Artificial Island Map v1.0
This template I made for myself before the beta version of the editor was available. There are too many limits and unfinished sections for me to complete it atm… so in the future I plan to update it has the editor gets better.
My goal with this was to have a grid friendly map and a network with flat but interesting terrain so that I could just plop down network buildings and zone cities quickly without having to manually spend a lot of time fighting the terrain. This was never intended to be realistic (has the name implies), but I did try my best to keep slopes and turns to a realistic level. There is also some interchanges I wanted to try out in a mass scale running along the center spine of the map with a waterway for the ships to dock at the center. Plenty of beautiful realistic maps out there that I didn’t feel the need to make my own.
Because I wanted to keep everything symmetrical so that the grid didn’t break… let’s say this took a lot more work than you’d think just to get it to this point lol. The main things I want to be able to set up correctly is the climate and maybe add some more water elements to fill out more the sections. I would love to do waterfalls for example, but the editor really doesn’t want to cooperate with that atm.
