Cities Skylines 2: Age Groups
Citizens progress through four distinct life stages, each identifiable by its unique appearance. Your cities will host children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. Moreover, family units or households can span several generations, from the young to the elderly.
With aging, citizens’ educational choices evolve, and their health shows varying trends. While children and teens enjoy a health advantage, the elderly witness a gradual decline in health. Age influences their employment opportunities, and upon reaching the “Teenager” stage, they can opt to work. However, some might prioritize furthering their education before venturing into the workforce.
PREFERENCES
From teenagers to the elderly, each age group has distinct transportation and shopping preferences.
In terms of mobility, teenagers tend to choose more economical transportation options, balancing cost against the distance they’re willing to traverse on foot. When driving, they lean towards parking farther away at a free spot over paying for a closer location.
Adults are driven by efficiency. They opt for the fastest route, regardless of associated costs – whether it’s parking charges, public transport fares, or fuel expenses for their vehicles.
For the elderly, comfort takes precedence. Their choices aren’t influenced by cost or speed, but by the convenience of their journey. A straightforward route with a drop-off right at their destination is their ideal.
Shopping habits also diverge among age groups. While certain products attract consistent interest across age groups, specific items, like electronics, are more popular among households with teenagers than those with seniors. Conversely, financial products appeal more to senior households than those with children or teenagers.
