Cities Skylines 2: Outside Connections
Every map provided is equipped with a minimum of one road linkage, and a majority of them come with pre-established train routes and navigable waterways. Additionally, all these maps are intertwined with air routes and are traversed by power lines, facilitating the import or export of electricity. Interestingly, certain maps even boast multiple highway junctions right from the get-go, providing a plethora of options for city expansion and connectivity.
Beyond the pre-existing Outside Connections that each map presents, there’s further opportunity to enhance connectivity. Once you expand your city to the fringes of the map, you gain the capability to establish additional Outside Road, Train, and Ship Connections. As previously highlighted in our development diaries, the game allows for the creation of Electricity, Water, and Sewage connections that extend beyond city boundaries. This feature paves the way for trade in these utilities, expanding the depth and complexity of city management.
However, there’s a notable exception when it comes to expanding connectivity: airways. While you cannot add new air routes to the map, the good news is that once you’ve built an airport, you can seamlessly integrate with the pre-configured airway touchpoints, ensuring that your city remains a bustling hub of activity and trade.
