It is Time for a Cities: Skylines 2
Back in 2013, EA unveiled the newest addition to their city building simulation series, SimCity, which was once the reigning champion of its genre. However, this title was met with an abundance of controversy due to EA’s chosen direction for the game. Fans of city building were disappointed by the mandatory online connectivity and the constraints imposed on their creativity, causing them to seek alternatives. It wasn’t long before Colossal Order answered their prayers, as they released Cities: Skylines in 2015.
Upon its launch, Cities: Skylines was met with widespread acclaim and managed to captivate players for hours on end. It quickly became the highest-grossing title for publisher Paradox Interactive, having sold over six million copies by 2019. Since its initial release, the game has received a considerable amount of downloadable content that has significantly expanded its gameplay, yet even after seven years, there has been little to no news regarding a sequel.
