YS France AD500 v0.0.1
The tale of Ys (also known as Ker-Ys) is a tale as old as time. Sometimes storms happen, some of them are huge, waters rise and cities drown.
The story of Ys is so old it has entered into myth and there are now many who believe it to be just that – a myth, but like all myths and legends from history there is often truth behind the story.
The modern version of the story of Ys puts the cities demise at some time around the end of the 5th century, this is known due to the story’s main protagnist being King Gradion, who was a Celtic king of Brittany at that time. However many Celtic historians say that the story of Ys is even older still. In truth, it is not known when Ys disappeared or for how long it has been passed on through storytellers of the Celtic traditions.
Most legends place the city on reclaimed land in what is now known as the Bay of Douamenez, in north-west France. In this map, that land still exists.
